I've been to 5 of those, have several others around if I wanted. I strongly disagree with their ordering . In-n-out was probably the biggest let down I've had.
Whenever I spot a new face in my Burger shop I always ask how the came on us. Surprisingly (not that much anymore) Google sends them my way after asking where to get the best burgers in Port Elizabeth.
I jokingly tell them that's rather odd as Google has never been here for a burger 😉
If we are going to have a decent burger it is always going to be from a tavern or local diner; probably a place a Yelp reviewer would only drive pass and not have the courage to enter.
We did really like 5 Guys but our closest one shut down over 5 years ago due to the landlord raising the rent. Other than that, we haven’t eaten in a chain burger joint in over a decade.
Dead Bobs has one of the best burgers in St. Pete. Looks like a rough place, but mostly a friendly bunch, place is small, and always packed. They opened a new Dead Bobs Too in downtown St Pete, but we haven’t been there yet.
That is so true. You are reminding me of when I was a kid growing up in Madison Wisconsin and we would go to this tiny burger joint. They had a few seats at the counter where you could watch them cook and walk out smelling like onions and french fries. Just great food and they had a cheese plate (on paper of course) that was massive and quality cheese.
