$100.00 for the Grand Burger at McGuire's Irish Pub in Pensacola. Actually only $25.00 for me as I was traveling with three others and we had already sampled their ale sampler several times.

Probably $17 or so at a "fancy" restaurant at an an airport (JFK or Atlanta Come to mind). Our local upscale restaurant actually has a really good 1/2 pounder of locally sourced beef that is very good for $10 with fries.

Most outrageously expensive was recently at McDonald's in Auburn CA. It was $15.11 for two Big Macs and one fry, and it was awful! We gave up on McDonald's for good that day! 🤑

Burger at the 21 Club in NYC. Its currently listed at $34 dollars, it was a while ago and I didn’t pay that much. Service and the food was far beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. Glad I did it once.

$120 USD. The DB Royale at DB Bistro Moderne in New York City. It was well worth it and there may have been some alcohol involved beforehand.

- house made bun
- drunk onions - caramelized onions cooked down in red wine, port and red wine vin
- truffle pecorino cheese
- house made bread and butter pickle chips
- roasted tomato aioli
Never had to pay for it, but it was worth the $$

There is a french restaurant around me called Stage Left. At one point they had a bar menu that had a 20 dollar burger that was a mix of ground chuck, brisket, and sirloin if i remember. Came with some ridiculous aged cheddar and anything else you had to ask specifically for...lettuce/tomatoes/onions etc. This was a solid 15 years ago and i was a college student so that was a major expenditure for me at the time which probably influenced how good i thought it was, but i remember it being amazing.

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I don't think I've every paid more than $12-15 for any burger, ever. And that was probably at a place like Chili's or Red Robin, when out with friends and family.

Long story, only peripherally involvin a burgesa, so sorry lol
Please, feel free to bypass...
29APR91 Comin back home, after a Mandated, extended 'Vacation' in South West Asia, We was all laid back, (summat), flaps down, on glide path to JFK, NYC... Pilot announced that he had received clearance to deviate from typical flightplan, fer us, an if'n we'd take to th starboard portholes, why, we'uns'd be able to feast our sand-filled squinties on Lady Liberty, Her Danged Ol Self
, which we all done (reckon th Pilot had to do some powerful trimmin, to maintain course, at that point)
We all cheered like th rough an rowdy bastards we was, an had tears streamin down our faces, at th same time...
Aircrew, they done tol us we'uns'd haveta 'Deplane', on accounta they hadda fuel up th A/C, so we reluctantly did; it was jus too surreal, settin boots down on Murrican ground, an we 'uns was way more than Knee Deep in Denial, an Disbelief...hard to splain, less'n yall been there...
Here's hopin yall never have been, an never will be...
We'uns gathers ourselves, to try an present a credible front, an exited th A/C...
Unbeknownst to us, th JFK Terminal people had ratted us out, an announced that a flight of US Military was returnin from ODS...
We were MOBBED, from th gateway, to th bar we managed to find/navigate to....
Folks was all kinda cheerin, pattin us on th back, etc, made us all kinda start cryin again, sho nuff...
I remembers briefly perusin th burgers on they menu (which I craved Oh So Dearly), after such a Long Time Overseas, was like $12.50-$20, so I decided to hold out til I gots me on down to Missippissi, an some Proper Food, yall, lol
I did, however enjoy multiple Murrican Beers (8 oz Pony Buttwipers @ $4.25, apiece.
First an last taste of NYC I ever wanna have...
Reckon this rye cheer might be amongst th priciest burgers I never ever had...

I remember back in my business traveling days made one of several trips to Peter Luger's in Brooklyn. One of the times I went with a group for lunch I ordered their burger. It's nothing special, just 1/2 pound but done up right. I'm thinking it was like $20 with some sides.
When I lived in the Chicago area, there was a little old hole in the wall place up in Wauconda that had a burger that was literally the size of a dinner plate. They even had a special bun made that covered that same plate. I think is was like 2-3 pounds of meat, probably a dozen pieces of cheese and drug through the garden. It was intended to be a fun serving for like 4 people but they said if you could eat it yourself, it was free. Never saw anyone actually do it although many tried. My memory is a little vague (it was 30+ years ago) but I'm thinking it was about $35 back then so easily $50 or more in today's dollars.
