You have to be a senior to get a free gym membership. Not sure it is a free tradeoff! Though I am very happily retired, as Betty Davis said "growing old is not for sissies!". hee hee.

It’s not painful for me, in general, I love it. I honestly can’t recall the last time I had a donut. But I do know KC is a good spot and I love those when they are offered. The only thing I really miss on since going keto 5 years ago is fries and ice cream. Both of which I indulge in when I carb cycle about once a month. HuskeeOak Smoke
A hot glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut taken off the production line with a chop stick and put into a box and eaten within minutes!!!
What a treat. I have eaten a dozen at one time when I was in my prime and not so prime. I had their app on my phone to know when they they turned on the Hot Doughnut sign on at their store.
I grew up with Krispy Kreme in Baton Rouge. There was one across the way from my high school, and one of the nuns bought donuts from there and sold them to us at fist break. I ate 2 chocolate covered donuts every day while she was at the school. I was about 95 pounds soaking wet at the time and could eat my weight without gaining anything. No longer the case.
I did not know Krispy Kreme was so popular.
I don't think they are the PBR of donuts. They have to be fresh as their shelf life is measured in minutes.
I don't care for KK. They are way to greasy for me. Generally, if I can squeeze grease out of something, I can't eat it.
I can only figure people eat them because they've never been to a real donut shop.
I support my local mom and pop donut shop. They beat any franchise hands down. I will say that when I'm luchy enough to be near a KK when the Hot Now sign goes on, I'll get a couple of fresh glazed.
You couldn't pay me to eat DD's. Nasty things are only useful for sporting clays.
I lived on Signal Mtn TN, a small town of abt 8,000. One of our local police was over on the side of the mtn W road with his hood up. I stopped to ask if he needed help. No, a wrecker was on the way. Well it was doughnut day, I had a dozen in the car, asked if he wanted one. Absolutly not,if someone saw me on side of road, hood up, eating a doughnut I would never live it down,I would be made fun of for years said the policeman!
If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
Well, being a southern boy, I have to vote for Krispy Kreme. Dunkin' Donuts was gone from our area for 15-20 years, and has made a come back with lots of little locations around town, but every time I walk into one, mostly for a cup of coffee, they seem to be out of almost all the flavors of donuts we are interested in.
My vote goes to Krispy Kreme for donuts, Dunkin' for coffee. I just like the yeast style light and fluffy hot and fresh glazed donuts better than the cake style ones.
There are some good local donut shops around town as well, but none in areas I frequent.

They opened a KK in my home town in the early 2000's. You would have thought it was the second coming. People were nuts about it. Lines up the wazoo. It was madness.
Being that my family is from Iowa, we used to get them at Kum & Go all the time. No big deal. So I never really bought into the whole thing. They are really good, but I am not gonna wait in line for a donut, sorry. LOL.
Anyway, fast forward to about 2005 or so, that store was closed down and now I have no idea if there is even a KK in MN anymore. I am pretty sure that is the last time I had a KK donut. So much for that fad. Funny how things work like that.
Got mine at Dunkin this morning. I gotta say that I'm not a huge fan of Dunkin, donuts or coffee, but their ok, and they are everywhere by me so they are convenient and I end up there a lot (and their avocado toast isn't bad either). Our Krispy Kreme's are long gone.
