may have mentioned this before, but bathroom tissue rolls are being cut at least 1/2" shorter than they were before (in other words, a more narrow roll of paper). You may have the same number of sheets per roll, but the overall square footage of paper being sold is fewer.
Source: newly-purchased packages stack shorter when placed next to older packages in the cabinet
This has been going on for several years now and it really pissed me off! Everywhere I went all the mfgr’s were selling us those narrower rolls. After a while I actually had to Google where to find the old standard sized rolls. The only place I could find them was Costco. The Charmin TP they sell is the standard size everyone used to make. So, what do they put on the package……”Wider Rolls.” No they’re not wider rolls! They’re the same size y’all USED TO make. 🤬 That is actually one of the reasons I joined Costco, in addition to their meat. So if anyone is looking for the “Wider Rolls” Costco has em. I believe that Costco’s Kirkland Brand TP is also the same width as the Charmin.
The Charmin ‘Extra Wide’ TP is great bathroom tissue but because each sheet is so thick, the roll appears to have more paper in it than it does. Therefore, we go through a buttload of it (pun intended) in a short period. (If anyone retorts with, “you’re full of sh*t”, I won’t necessarily disagree.)
I have yogurt once or twice a week for breakfast. I used to have to pour it into a bowl to mix it with nuts and fresh fruit. Now there is plenty of room in the container to mix in the extras and the price is up %40.
