Damn. I sold my ice cream truck in ‘86, the year after I started carrying them. That was one of the items that I would order 4-5 boxes a day, even back then. (Chocolate Eclairs, Strawberry Shortcake, and Ice Cream Sandwiches were the others.)

Not really, it was all business. It was fun, but if you want to make money you have to be very strict with yourself: same place, same time, every day. 7 days a week, or, if you take a day off, make it the same day, and make sure people know you aren’t coming on, say, Sundays.
I hated the music boxes. I had a set of 5 bells that rang in harmony, a nice jangly C chord.
I wish I had a photo of my truck. It was damn nice. ‘71 Ford P350, it had a 300ci 6 cyl with 200,000 miles, all 10 mph stop sign to stop sign in the middle of summer. I changed the oil every two weeks.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.
