While I always have Tabasco and some variety of random hot sauces, I totally see Texas Pete being #1 in NC and surrounding since its local and I can remember it being the only choice for a long time, and is what most BBQ and seafood joints would have had on their tables. I still generally go for Texas Pete to spice up cocktail sauce with my seafood.

I wear RGPs....and I can confirm, touching your eye with capsaicin in it feels almost as bad a getting a cat hair stuck in there. The trick is wear gloves while making the sauce.....and, as I learned, when washing the dishes involved in making the sauce.Originally posted by glitchy View PostThinking about trying a batch of controlled burn, but have fears as a contact wearer of making my own.

What I find funny is that in all the taqueria's I eat at in Florida, I can't recall ever seeing Cholula on the table. I guess the authors of the survey only asked gabochos y gabachas what they preferred on their taco salads.
