While I always have Tabasco and some variety of random hot sauces, I totally see Texas Pete being #1 in NC and surrounding since its local and I can remember it being the only choice for a long time, and is what most BBQ and seafood joints would have had on their tables. I still generally go for Texas Pete to spice up cocktail sauce with my seafood.

I wear RGPs....and I can confirm, touching your eye with capsaicin in it feels almost as bad a getting a cat hair stuck in there. The trick is wear gloves while making the sauce.....and, as I learned, when washing the dishes involved in making the sauce.

El Yucateco! How could I forget that one! For a commercial habanero sauce, it is really very good. The red one is my favorite. A little goes a long way.

This is the stuff I use. Although it’s not for the uninitiated. Found it in Cartagena, Columbia while on a trip.
This is hot, but I really like the flavor. If you are not used to heat, don’t bother.

Amazonpepper.com. They have lots of other sauces and pepper flavors.

What I find funny is that in all the taqueria's I eat at in Florida, I can't recall ever seeing Cholula on the table. I guess the authors of the survey only asked gabochos y gabachas what they preferred on their taco salads.

Agreed, I never heard of it before this post. Around TampaBay I see Frank’s, and Louisiana Hot Sauce, and rarely Tabasco. Have to start looking closer. 🙂

ID:	1113674 This is hands down my favorite commercial hot sauce. I have lots of the others but never find myself grabbing them. This, to my tastes, has more flavor and lots more heat.

I like the El Yucateco chipotle sauce. I call it Mexican barbecue sauce.

Shipping is $14.97....with the price of gas here now this come in at a dead heat for delivery or buy in person.

Tabasco is king here in Louisiana but the correct answer is Crystal.

Peppers should be the first ingredient in any hot sauce.
