We are making anywhere between 8-12 waffles a week. Definitely a hit.
I am at the point where I am wondering if I need a second one. Would that be the most efficient approach or is there a better way to increase waffle production even more?
Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
That KA recipe is very similar to mine except I separate the eggs, whip the whites and fold them in as a last step. It’s an old recipe from my mom so I’m not sure if folding in the whites adds loft to the waffles compared to the KA recipe. I don’t make Belgian waffles, but the smaller grid kind pictured in the KA recipe.
You get extra points for filling every square with syrup.
WayneT I have yet to whip the egg whites into the batter but honestly, I really wonder if it will make a difference because you are compressing the batter anyway with the maker. The handle lifts anyway as the batter cooks so there is plenty of “loft” in the end.
STEbbq whipping the whites makes them crispier on the outside, and gives the interior a structure that is less doughy. I don’t make waffles very often but when i do i def whip my whites. 🔥🔥🐿️
My current to do list includes a new pizza waffles with sausage and homemade bacon or pepperoni and bacon, the corn dog one, and the red lobster biscuit one.
A recipe for making Jalapeño Cheddar "Everything" Stuffed Waffle using a Stuffed Waffle Makers from National Presto Industries
That said, the jalapeño cheddar recipe above seems to hit on all of the same flavors and no need to acquire the biscuit mix. A better option perhaps Uncle Bob ?
Here are this week’s waffles. All-American corn dog waffles with Aunt Jemina corn meal (yeah it was old), bourbon maple syrup, and ketchup. No plate shots because I couldn’t get one with the hot dog showing so it looked less exciting . But, exactly as you might imagine, a delicious corn dog in a new format.
Next up, I think we are going for red lobster biscuit mix with sausage and maybe bacon as the stuffing plus sausage gravy as the topper. Maybe I will throw in a few pickled jalapeños.
This was ridiculously decadent and extravagant breakfast biscuit. No way we can do this weekly but definitely keep it in the rotation. Red Lobster cheddar biscuits stuffed with sausage and topped with peppered sausage gravy. Two boxes of mix makes 4 waffles!
