I'm not an Apple guy, I use Android, but one issue I have had is that my app gets put into a battery management system and it doesn't notify properly. Once I excluded it from there it worked much better. Also if you have any "do not disturb" settings overnight you want to be sure that the app is excluded from those too.
You’re right, my phone goes into "do not disturb mode" at night but I’m wondering if, since it’s a shared Apple ID, the iPad did that too. Gonna check tonight. 🙄
Glad it turned out great for you. I don't get too rattled with temp swings during a brisket cook. Use huskee's trick (lots of booze to conquer the nerves).
