    HUGE RR Ranch (SRF) briskets!

These were supposed to be 10-12 lbs.

As you can see, one is 12.8, and the other is... 16!!!

Regarding RR Ranch beef, we’ve had their prime rib roasts twice, and they are exceptional. I expect nothing less from these. The rib roasts were also choice, but flavor tells all.

Nice. Weigh the fat you trim off. I'd like to know if it is on par with what I get.

I’m estimating that the 16 will wind up around 10. I take the fat from between the muscles out, too.

Nice! Mine always came on the lowest possible end of the spectrum. I order a 10-12lb and get a 10.4 lb one. Happened 3 or 4 times.

            Those will eat up nice!

Mosca That's great. I wonder if their process improvement team met and decided to change things to stop the grumbling on the BBQ forums

I actually called them and asked them about it, they told me that it was "first come first served", so if there's a sale the biggest ones go to the earliest orders. I ordered within the first hour or so of this sale, I saw the email as it popped into my in box.

Mosca, great info, thanks! My orders weren't sales, and after 3 or 4 times I began to suspect it was just drawing the short straw. Couldn't really complain though, it was always in the range I'd ordered.

Very nice! I am planning on an SRF brisket soon. I have a 12.8 Costco prime (11/29 cut) aging now. Planning on doing them exactly the same as a test.

Nice! I've been tempted to buy a prime brisket from CSF but have yet to pull the trigger. I've been pretty happy with the CSF choice briskets I get through my local food service company. I just don't know if spending the extra money on a CSF or SRF is going to be that noticeable.
