    Dinner when Wife is away

First off my wife's not a big fan of steak. Secondly she is an RN with affiliated Bachelor of science and Masters degrees. Then top it off most of her family are either MDs or PhD's. So I don't get a chance to eat steak a whole lot. She took the kids up to Maryland for a birthday party for my father-in-law and I had to work today. So I am calling it a test on the SnS. Who am I to question if the butcher gave me an inch and a quarter thick ribeye

It's funny that when the wives are away one of the things we think of is" what can I cook that she don't like?" Enjoy

Steak, potato and NO visible green stuff. Well played.

I'm going to suggest to Mrs. Rod that perhaps a shopping trip with the girlfriends should be considered.

I was very impressed. I followed the SnS, all I can say is wow. I got the grill too hot. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I got it a little darker in several areas than I wanted.

Looking good!!! When wife is away is my time to do chicken. She's had some bad GI experiences with (other people's) grilled chicken so not one of her favs. Thankfully she travels a bunch. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

                        I can appreciate bad chicken.

The wife and I had food poisoning from bad chicken once. I took her backpacking along Appalachian trail. I Bought some chicken on sale. I Froze it, packed it in. (In a cooler with ice) I had about an 80 lb ruck on. I was trying to do everything I could do to make her first real camping trip enjoyable. I packed everything but thx chicken sink. (I used to be in marines and was used to carrying loads like that)

We went about 10 miles. We had a Boston Terrier, he was all wound up and would not eat his dinner. So I gave him some of the chicken with dinner. Within an hour he was throwing up. We did not think anything of it.

The next day day was a long, long ten miles. She ended up in the hospital with IV fluids. I just remember stopping every 100-200 yds with dry heaves and all my joints aching.

Ham and chicken loaf MRE, had it twice both times it did not end well for me... the first time I chocked it up to a two and half hour nape of the earth flight through the Appalachians to Fort Bragg. The second time I decided I would never touch that one again lol.
