    It's National Prime Rib Day!

    Who knew?

A couple options for celebrating, especially since some might not have a cut of prime rib dry aged and ready to throw on the grill. Or maybe some do. The following is mostly from the website DaysofthYear...
How to Celebrate National Prime Rib Day

This is the type of day that isn’t difficult to observe, as long as everyone is happy for it to revolve around steak! Get on board with observing National Prime Rib Day with some of these delicious plans and ideas:

Go Out to a Restaurant for Prime Rib

One superb way to celebrate National Prime Rib Day might be to head out to a local steakhouse to celebrate the day. Order up a delicious plate of prime rib with all of the fixings on the side and have a little personal celebration of the day at the table. Remind the server or manager that it’s a special day and they’ll likely want to celebrate with you!

    Make Prime Rib at Home

On the day before National Prime Rib Day, be sure to head over to the butcher or grocery store and ask them for the finest cut of prime rib for just yourself or for the entire family. Just be sure to leave plenty of time for cooking because prime rib is best when it is slow roasted and then flame grilled.

Just so happens that tonight is our monthly Cigar Night at my golf club. And Chef is making Prime Rib for the dinner portion. A nice glass of Basil Hayden with appetizers (charcuterie plate) and my first stogie (Olivia Master Blend 3 Churchill), followed by dinner of ceasar salad, Prime rib, taters and butter cake for dessert. Nico Libre after dinner cigar. Life is brutal.

Does BBQing up a Ribeye steak qualify? That's what's for dinner tonight. An actual prime rib is bit too much for just the two of us

It qualifies in my book! Might be our method of celebrating as we don't have a roast ready for the grill.

Prime rib is one of my favorites. Our local grocery store, Shoprite, had an Easter sale so I snagged 60 lbs and it’s all cut up into steaks and beef ribs for the smoker. I did set aside one small roast for when we have company.

I'll stick to making steaks at home if you don't mind. The only steak house we have in town is a Longhorn and those steaks still have marks on them where the jockey hit them.

Yes, I was surprised as well. It actually came via a SNS email. I posted it as soon as I could.

I have a boneless rib eye or loin, but it is from a pig. Does this count?

We would be at home too. I know the roast will come out perfect to our liking (125ish) and there will be leftovers to do some awesome philly's with.
