    A New Steak Cut??

My main online meat source sent an email claiming a new steak cut called Bavette. They don't say hardly anything about it other than tender and tasty. They are priced at 4 12oz steaks for $76.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has eaten or cooked a Bavette and how you liked it.

I love flank steak. The French call it bavette.

I know bavette as flap steak, not flank. I like both but find flap to be one of the better values out there not to mention a great steak regardless of price.

Yeah, it looks like they are adjacent to one another though. Apparently, Wikipedia needs to be corrected as did I.

Isn’t that the same as a flank steak?

        That's $19/steak - not even $19/lb.

That works out to... uh.... $25/lb --- which, based on some quick googling, seems a bit high. Even for the fancier named Bavette cut

Porter Road has sold Bavette for a few years now: https://porterroad.com/products/bave...e980f0d3&_ss=r

It is also known as flap steak or sirloin flap.

I really like bavette. It has a great flavor and texture. Works great for stuff like carne asada and the like and is also great for just grilling and eating.

I don't think it is the same as "Flank" it is also called "Flap" can be cut into steak tips. Not new but one of our favorites.

Bavette steak is the unsung hero of beef. Before searching for your first bavette steak, here's everything you need to know to ensure you do so thoughtfully.

A boneless cut with a hearty texture that’s a good source for fajita meat. Marinate and grill or broil.

I buy flap meat, I mean Bavette steaks, all the time. Always find it in the manager special discount section.
