I am doing a chuck roast for Super Bowl and I am curious as to what my fellow Pit Members like for sauces and other toppings on pulled beef slider style sangers? I will for sure be doing SC mustard sauce which is excellent on pretty much everything, but I am curious as to what else people like?
Some other sauce ideas:
- MH's Grown up mustard sauce
- Fresh grated horseradish mixed with mayo and/or sour cream
- Straight up dijon mustard
- MH's brisket sauce
Topping ideas:
- Pickled red onions
- Sliced dill pickles
- Sauerkraut
- Cheese, what kinds do you like on pulled beef?
We do MH's Grown up mustard sauce or a combo of MH's Texas Barbecue juice and Secretariat Horseradish cream sauce. We also sometimes do provolone cheese with green peppers and onions, cheese steak style.

If you like shredded beef tacos, grab you some flour tortillas, a handful of jalapeños, couple cloves of garlic, half a small onion, and an 8 oz. can of tomato sauce. Remove the stem from the jalapeño and cut into chunks, chop the half onion, and chop the garlic into a couple three pieces. Throw it all in a blender with half a can of tomato sauce and a pinch of salt and puree it. Taste to see if you want to add more tomato sauce. This is a simple, great, fresh tasting sauce that goes great with beef. It can be quite hot, so taste cautiously and add more tomato sauce if it's too hot.
