I had an Arby’s roast beef French dip about a year ago. I was surprised at how good it was. But alas, no Arby’s in my neck of the woods.

that's my go to, and some curly fries dipped in horsey sauce mixed with mayo... I don't really like their roast beef sammies, but I love that French dip and the Reuben is decent.

I rotate between the half lb, the French dip and their Italian/Philly (whatever they're calling it this week).

I used to love their Big Montana- just a extra thick pile of roast beef and nothign else, but i think they've been gone for many years. I like their beef & cheddars too just w/o the onion bun. I've casually wondered how they made their beef too, great question & great topic.

Bogy, thanks, haven't been there in ages but sounds like they just renamed it. Might have to treat myself soon.

The old montana is now just the half pound classic or beef and cheddar options around here.

Yeah, they like to rebrand stuff - it used to aggravate me, I never knew what to call it. I don't recall the last time I ate there, though. We've got 2 here, one about 1.5miles away. Honestly the more I think about it, we don't eat out a lot anymore. I need to work on smoking/grilling/griddling more. Keep us out of those places.

I'm with you I like Arby's and their sauce. We had one 2 blocks away that closed up about 18 months ago. On the darker side, this reminds me of an ex brother in-law who had a bunch of sayings, one of them was "You never see a stray cat running around an Arby's." But I don't think that's the answer to your quest.

A guy I went to college with got food poisoning from an Arby's. I'm pretty sure that's the closest I've ever gotten to eating at Arby's.

I got bad food poisoning at a Landry’s that used to be here. Bad gumbo - didn’t finish it, and ended up running out puking before the food came. On my own birthday no less! Was sick all night. Never went there again…

jfmorris you probably got the good ole' Staph aureus or Bacillus cereus. Emetic toxin, quick puking. Really quick in your case!!

Did anyone try the Arby's Wagyu burgers? I don't think they are on the menu, and I did not get to try them. If anyone did, how were they? And what was the price?

I have seen them. Can't pin down exactly where it would have been. We eat at the Arby's in Spencer, Clear Lake, Mason City, Albert Lea (north side), and Minneapolis. I don't recall that the price was that bad, but I don't trust the "Wagyu" label at a fast food place. I suspect it's like the label "Angus". Guys I know who raise cattle laugh about that. These places act like "Angus" is a big deal. I didn't want to be disappointed. I'll watch and see if any of the places we hit still has them.

I didn’t, when I finally get near one I always get the 1/2 pound roast beef.

Like a lot of fast food places, there's a nostalgia factor for some folks. I like a beef & cheddar on an onion bun every now and then.

After reading this (not actually trying it) this actually sounds like it would get you pretty close. If you have the two brands Hillshire Farm and Land 'O Frost mentioned available where you live

Making Arby's Roast Beef Sandwich at home is more than just the beef and bun. Let me take you through how to replicate this classic in your own kitchen.

Looks good. For the premium version I think I'd warm up the meat in some beef broth.

every time I eat at Arby’s I swear I’ll never eat there again! Then CRS sets in…….I’m in the Twilight zone 😳

I think if you cook any beef roast with or without seasoning, and then slice it thin enough, you will be happy. It would take a mechanical slicer to get you there.

I love Arby’s roast beef sandwiches but those drive my roids insane and would need surgery if I don’t stop eating them. 🤣
Sorry to bring up roids on the pit but has anyone had them cut out. I have them at grade 3 😩

Never had one, ulcerative colitis is all I can say I’ve had. With the new biologic Entivio I have no symptoms at all. As far as I’m concerned it’s a miracle.

Why are the called hemorrhoids? Wouldn't asteroids be a better name?

that’s funny! 😆 asteroids, that’s dang sure more fitting, trust me!
There a pain in the asteroid ☄️ and not kidding.
I’ve heard post surgery pain is HORRIBLE!
that hangs around for about 2 1/2 weeks SOLID!
Though am getting by with setting in our jetted tub with the hottest water possibly can stand, that’s getting me by. Watching diet carefully does help but it requires staying away from beef some. I don’t care what Rush Limbaugh ever said, too much beef screws me up VERY BAD but that’s me. A good way to describe hemorrhoid pain is take tooth pain times 12 equals hemorrhoid pain.
