    Cooking time estimate prime/ standing rib

    OK, OVEN OR GRILL, at 225 or 250 what is the time estimate per pound.
    Bone in on this one, tied round as possible. 19 lbs.
    Does the time change with no bones?

    I, too, would like a broad/general estimate that I can plan by. My prime rib is 16 lbs with the bones and fat cap removed. I want to try and serve around 4PM so when to I stick this roast in my Traeger set at 225?

      Google cooking temps and times for prime ribs roasts. You will find suggested temps and times based on the size of your roast.

      Cooking at 225° to 250° is the same in your kitchen oven or your smoker.

      Lots of times a nice roast like that has suggested cooking temps and times on the packaging. Follow that if its there to get an idea of the time.

      Cook to temperature not to time though.
