    Cooking two prime rib roasts

So I am cooking a prime rib roast for Christmas and I bought an 8 pound roast (4 bones) to feed my family. Now I ended up inviting more people and want to get another 3 bone roast. The question I have is do I tie the two roasts together so I can serve it as one big hunk of meat or cook them separately? Any suggestions? I am also thinking about just getting a whole new roast and saving the one I have for another meal but it's dry aged beef and is painfully expensive.

    DSilman ...

You can't have too much inventory of to much dry aged beef.😜

However if you have enough space in your cooker to set the 2 roasts 2 to 3 inches apart from each other and they are the same thickness, just different lengths... No need to tie them together. They will cook exactly the same.

It's your choice... A 7 bone or a 4 & 3 bone combined will cook the same. It's the thickness not the length.

    Take pictures...👍

I'd do them separately myself too. A little extra crust never hurt anyone!
