Just Keep Flipping might revive the Gasser usage

I can't remember the last time I fired up the Spirit to cook anything but a boneless breast for a salad. Last night I got home late and didn't feel like lighting coals. Pulled out two thin ribeyes that were cut from the ends of a roast, about 3/4". Flip, Flip, Flip about 30-45 seconds per side and they came out great. Good crust and pink from edge to edge. I think I'll try this to reverse sear a tri-tip on Father's day.

I've reverse seared many thick steaks on my Weber gas grill - turn one burner on, put the steaks at the opposite end until they hit about 120, then flip flip flip over one burner on high.

I learned that lesson this year, too. Don’t sell short your gasser, it’s a very useful tool!

ID:	1238235 The JKF method is my usual thing. So easy. I use my mini gasser that has just two temps. Blazing hot and nuclear. Works great.

I recently had to add a gasser to the arsenal because of burn bans, and I am loving the quick and easy cook during our searing summer heat.. (85 degrees)...

Be safe during the heat wave. Anything over 70° can be very dangerous if you don't take proper precautions

Given the price of electricity I set my thermostats on 83 during the summer. Still runs the AC too long. Man you Colorado boys and your altitude attitude!

Dude, I'd trade a vital organ for an 85 degree day right now

Are your burners front to back, or left to right? Mine are left to right and it doesn't seem to get a good indirect zone while still having a searing zone.

Yeah I have the left to right three burner. Can’t do much with it at all. In fact I haven’t used it at all in quite a while. Like a couple years.

I have an old Genesis 2 burner with the left to right burners - its just not good for indirect cooking, and gets used for direct grilling only. The Grillgrates help with that, as it reduces the amount of flareups when using the whole grill for chicken, burgers, etc.

Newer Spirit burners are front to back.

I heart my Weber Summit gasser. Going strong for almost 15 years now. My PBC, 22" Kettle and WSCGC all scratch their heads when I fire up the gasser, but they pipe down when they see the quick and easy meals rolling off it from time to time. Plus with GGs, it's a searing machine.

I am a big fan of the continuous flip method. I generally go about every 20 seconds or so. It is fun to watch the crust form slowly with each flip.

BTW, here is what I use to flip. It makes it super easy, and it is easy on the crust!

I have one of those. I'm going to try it tonight on our Father's Day Porterhouse Steak dinner.
Thanks. Looks like the perfect tool.
