    Beef Ribs? Identification Help

I saw these at my local grocery store and they where just labeled soup bones. They where frozen so it made it a little harder to identify but I looked at them and thought "these look like Beef Back Ribs", they where cheep so I picked them up. Do you guys think I'm right that these are indeed beef back ribs? Not a great deal of meat on them so I don't think they are short ribs. Either way they are going on the smoker today I just am trying to guesstimate the cook time at 225°.

I too believe they are back ribs. Beef back ribs awe GREAT! Yeah, maybe a touch thinner and less meat than shorts, but more than pork ribs and oh so good!

Look like back ribs to me as well, but I have nowhere near the experience most others around here do... we've loved the back ribs I've made, just absolutely delicious even if not a ton of meat. But you got plenty there, you'll do fine!

Once Smoked, those would make a great base for beef barley soup 😋

Yes, those are beef back ribs. I love beef ribs like that with some meat. Not as much meat as short ribs but a great find and after cooking you will be looking for more "soup bones" next time.

The beef back ribs turned out amazing and had more meat then I originally thought. Sorry no photos, they where consumed too quickly. Definitely going to keep an eye out for this type of "soup bones" again.

So happy for you and your sharp eye. A really great score.

Ask the grocery store meat counter if they have anymore of the rib soup bones. Just don't tell them that people are willing pay a lot more for beef ribs
