I had the opportunity to pick up a case of filets that were originally packed for Ruth’s Chris. I was surprised to find out they were choice, not prime.
I consider Ruth’s Chris to be over priced and overrated, but I didn’t expect this.
Yeah, unless it is specially identifies as USDA Prime on the menu, it’s likely USDA Choice for Ruth Chris. I learned to start reading menus because of the Pit.
I don't know about Ruth's Chris, but i have eaten at many restaurants that use tenderizers in their meats to try to make up for quality. How do i know? I get some very bad reactions to those chemicals.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

I've never been there but I've heard mixed reviews, most rave. Makes sense though, a filet is so tender that using Choice might make them a couple extra bucks each since with a filet it really doesn't matter, not much fat and marbling to shake a stick at.
