Well... I did not find any reason for the slowdowns. No errors logged. No email notices.

I went ahead and setup up a 5 minute monitor on Uptime Robot.

Ironically, at 2:04 PM PDT, roughly, I clicked in to read this thread and this is the result and then somewhere around 2:08 PM PDT it cleared up
