When I was a young college man we would take kraft mac and cheese, a pound of breakfast sausage and a can of pork and beans and mix it all together and bake it. It looked horrible but actually tasted decent...LOL

When Rice-a-Roni came out with Savory Classics in the 1980s, it was on a good sale all over the place, and I bet I bought 50 boxes of it. Lived primarily off it for several months.

New Joe's Special was a favorite during my student days in San Francisco in the sixties. Later, my kids got it at least once a week growing up.

BTW, @Murdy , the "San Francisco Treat" was a frequent go-to, as well.

There was a Joe's in San Rafael, CA. north of San Francisco for a short time.
Joe's special was the star of the menu. "Those were the days my friend"
