I just had this for dinner tonight and am pleasantly surprised by how good it was, I got the recipe from the "green Chile bible" , I ended up adding an extra can of the corn , extra onion and a full pack of bacon.
Next time I will probably add extra green chiles and fresh garlic to amp it up a notch, also homemade smoked bacon would be fantastic.
I cooked the potatoes by them selves until tender then added everything else and simmered for an hour.

My wife is the soup maker of the family and makes something similar to this. She actually suggested potato soup for dinner last night, but I told her it was too warm for hearty soup like that and I want to savor the early fall weather for a bit longer
