OK, now that I’ve gotten your attention here is what I made this evening:
BBQ Buffalo Peanuts
1/4 cup Frank’s Red Hot
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 lb. unsalted peanuts
4 tablespoons sweet heat BBQ rub
I started off by melting the butter in the microwave with the Red Hot and vinegar and blending it well.

Next I tossed the peanuts in the Buffalo sauce and I added in 2 tablespoons of my sweet Heat BBQ rub. You can find the recipe for that here.

I then spread the sauced peanuts on a parchment lined tray and then sprinkled them
with another 2 tablespoons of my sweet heat BBQ rub.

They went into my preheated 225° oven for 1.5 hours. I stirred the nuts every 1/2 hour so they roasted evenly.
After 1.5 hours they looked pretty good.

I zoomed in so you don’t have to.

These are incredible and I highly suggest that you make some.
I was planning on smoking these on my Grilla OG but the day got away from me and I wanted to make them so I just used my oven. Next time I make them, I’ll smoke them.
I chose to start with unsalted peanuts because my sweet heat BBQ rub has salt in it. They would have been too salty if I started with anything other than unsalted peanuts.
When they come out of the oven the peanuts are still soft. They harden back up after they cool down.
I used my all purpose sweet heat BBQ rub for these but any rub would work I would think.
I thought about adding in some Mike’s Hot Honey into the Buffalo sauce but I ultimately decided to just keep it basic. I’ll be making these on a regular basis now so I’m sure one batch I make will have hot honey in it.
I also thought about using Sriracha, but I like classic Buffalo wing sauce better than Sriracha.
