I used Diamond Crystal until Publix stopped carrying it. Then I switched to Morton's. Then I got serious about trying to use weight as much as possible. A gram is a gram is a gram.
I also liked the texture of Diamond Crystal as I thought it was easier to season with.
Went camping recently, and my wife put salt in a small Tupperware (maybe 1/3 cup in size) container, and packed it. I had been using it for Kosher salt; so, I assumed (yes, yes, I know am an ass) it was Kosher. [Table salt has crept back into the house since two my daughters moved back in - ingrates ]. I had for porterhouse steaks that needed Kosher. Shopping trip! Got a plastic thing of Morton’s at a Wal-Mart about 40 minutes away. Worth it.
The reason for the story is that I don’t see a difference in the grind, but the smaller plastic container is much more consistent in size (at least to me).
