    R U a dry Marinader

    Dry brine with a BBQ Rub, is it dry marinading?

    Neither. I brine with salt (normally dry ... but wet works, too), season with a rub (dry), and marinate with a marinade (a sauce).

      Very rarely does my rub have salt in it. But if it does then yes I am.

        Yep +1 ... depending on the composition of the rub or marinade, you'll sometimes need to combine a couple of steps.

      Lately I'm about half & half using a commercial rub (Meatheads', Hank's, or Heaven Made Products') as the dry brine or 'dry marinade', sometimes it's salt only then a rub later, depending on what I'm cooking.

        Usually dry brine. Sometimes with a salty rub and sometimes with plain salt.

          Dry with beef and pork and wet with poultry

            Typically dry brine with kosher salt and add other spices or rub before grilling/smoking. So, no, it’s not a marinade imho.
