I would be careful adding the diced onions unless you were going to use the sauce very quickly. The fresh raw onion won't have a long shelf life in the frig.

We used to always get Famous Daves catered for us one night during our boys night out weekend. I really like the Devils Spit bbq sauce. It is pretty spicy.

I always pick up a few bottles of Devil's Spit rub when traveling to take home. In the past few years, it's been hard to find a reasonable price online.

Famous Dave's is one of the few chains that I would actually choose to frequent. Is it the best barbecue I can get? No. That said, I cannot remember ever having a bad meal there. It's been a while since I've been there, but I do remember the ribs being somewhat on the sweeter side - so the sugar content in the rub makes some sense.

One has to eat at the original Famous Dave's. Yes it did burn down and he opened it under a different name. Quite an experience.

Wisconsin?! That reminds me of an old ad… “This stuff’s made in New York City!” LOL

Oh well, just goes to show that location isn’t as important as knowledge.

Have you been there? It’s pretty far north, wasn’t sure if it’s worth the trip.

I think it’s now called Tamarack Farms.

The Best BBQ in Hayward Wisconsin is located at Tamarack Farms Winery on Hwy B, just 6 miles south of Hayward Wisconsin.

It’s located at a winery. Interesting…what wines do they recommend pairing with the ribs?

We used to vacation in Siren Wisconsin and would occasionally take a day trip to Hayward. Lunch at the original Famous Dave's, and stop at a really neat candy store on Main Street.

Speaking of Famous Dave's, the Sweet and Spicy pickles are a staple in my pantry.
