I agree. It takes a grilled steak to a whole new level. I add a little butter on top of it too, I build it on the cutting board then lay the steak on the mixture to rest. Ingredients can very a little, but it’s amazing.

Ya, board sauce is the way to go, especially for like a rare Lego of lamb.

Welcome to the Pit. I like this idea, instead of a mere intro, newbies should be asked to post an original recipe.

Welcome. Chimichurri or a fresh board sauce are my two default toppings for almost any grilled beef.

FireMan Aleppo are a kind of pepper. I’m assuming Chef Jon changed it to red pepper. But Aleppo’s would be awesome!

Welcome to the Pit, Chef Jon. Thanks for your chimichurri recipe.

Funny, just this morning I was looking at one of the NYT recipes for Chermoula and was surprised to see how closely it resembled my recipe for Chimichurri. The only differences were the paprika added to the Chermoula and the fact that it calls for a serrano pepper, where my Chimichurri recipe calls for Aleppo Pepper and no paprika.

These two recipes originated literally a world apart but somehow ended up being so similar. Cool beans.

Yep! It’s my go to for beef….especially with skirt steak for some TACOS!!!!!!!!!!! Your recipe is very similar to how I make mine at times, unless I go with adding a bunch of peppers as well. Thanks for sharing!
