Land o Lakes for cooking, Plugra for the table. Love those creamy European butters.
Tried Kerrygold once because a former member here raved about using it to make his own ghee. I didn't like the herby note in the Kerrygold; never made ghee from it either.
“This recipe sucks!” All I did was substitute jalapeños instead of the tomatoes, beets instead of the celery and rice instead of the noodles. Will not make again.
I also use Plugra as my standard salted butter of choice.
If you want to try something different, Les Pres Sales is also a fantastic butter. It has nice flaky salt in it and is super creamy and with more flavor than normal butters. I've seen it at a few stores near me including Whole Foods and is usually around the same price as Plugra
Costco’s Kirkland brand of butter from grass fed is considerably cheaper than Kerry Gold, and every bit as good.
One of our granddaughters always raves about how much better the butter is at our house. When she was younger, she said the toast at grandma’s is a lot better than at home, now that she is older, she figured out that it’s the butter. Last weekend, she even ate a taste straight from the butter dish.

Am not familiar with Plugra butter. We have migrated to Tillamook unsalted butter. It is apparently 81% butterfat, vs 82 for Plugra. Part of my buy local much as possible.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

Hey if your topic is about butter (a commercial, or its price, or taste, or packing color), don't put it in the Off Topic/Non Foods channel. Ok, rant over.

So move it. I don't think I can do that.
Rant over?
You watch 2-3 hours of The Cooking Channel every day? 😳 I thought I needed to get a life….😂 just kidding. If you had a DVR you could always record the shows and then skip through the commercials. Even for live programs, like football, I’ll record it and start watching it about 20 minutes later so I can skip most of the commercials.
