There once was a banana so ripe,
Its yellow was bold, without stripe.
      It lounged in the sun,
      Having tropical fun,
Till it turned into a smoothie type.

"In 1901, the government of Guatemala hired the United Fruit Company to manage the country's postal service..."

You know.....after the mail fiasco we had down here around January and February, I might not be opposed to Dole Pineapple taking over USPS....

    I'd eat it

Definitely a unique take on savory and sweet.

Perhaps tostones I could see this with..but regular bananas…..hmmmmmm

that is quite the flavor profile right there!

Unripe bananas are very similar to plantains as being high in starch and low in sugar.

I bet this is an appetizer not a dessert, it wouldn't be sweet.

But they aren’t fried up like tostones…that’s where I struggle with this. I can see the flavor profile working with a tostone…just not in the way the bananas are shown. Although in a broiler setting maybe they work.

I can't get past the look of it. I ate with my eyes, and my eyes said no.

Hahah! Yes!!! Now picture a tostone wrapped in ham with perhaps a cheese sauce to dip? A little better? Maybe

I have a friend who eats peanut butter and banana sandwiches with mayo. So someone will eat this, it’s not me though. Give me that absolute magic that is pudding, bananas, and vanilla wafers.

I like peanut butter with banana and crunchy Cheetos in a sandwich.

fzxdoc Peanut butter, banana, and crunchy Cheetos on a sandwich. You’re one of the smartest girls I know so I will try it. Had it come from a lesser source I might have passed on it.

This is a complete clash of everything. Bananas don't go with ham, don’t go with mustard, and don’t go with cheese.

On the other hand, I’m going to the store later today. There’s nothing wrong with sacrificing one banana for science!

It said “firm”. I’m going to shoot for a day or two before ripe.
