The weather finally broke and I seasoned the cooker this afternoon. It took a bit long to get the WiFi feature to work due to a dual band router issue. Grill will only operate on 2.4hz frequency. Once I figured that out and realized I had left out a digit on the password, it worked perfectly. Rec Tec's support section on their web site was a big help troubleshooting the problem. The app works well with two screens, real time conditions and live history graph of the cook.
Well the test drive with the ribs was a success. Wife loves the smoke profile and these bad boys disappeared fast. I think this device just became my primary smoker. A lot less hassle than messing with the kettle with SNS. Easier to clean up too.
