Recently received my 1st Retirement Check and 1st check from Social Security!
Over the last year or so, I have been planning, assembling and modifying my outdoor cook space. I am super happy with my pit and how it has "come-along".
Thought I would post the old, the plan, the now and what my Pit looks like when I am NOT cookin'!
Delilah, Rosalita, Falt Top, Gasser, Pellet Rig, Rolling Tool Cabinet and Work Table are all "Tucked-In"
The Pavilion is just over 1 Year old and Delilah's Birthday is the end of this month!
Okie Joe was about 10 years old when I upgraded to Delilah:
Great space for a pavilion.....
4 year discussion w/ HOA before I got approved:
Bad Hat BBQ Pavilion all tucked in:
Open and ready to roll:

Getting close to a year since anybody posted anything. I have pics on page 2 and 10 for how I started out and changes. It's been a couple of years for me. There have been some changes, additions, and deletions. Though the area has not increased in size the wainscotting on the fence has progressed nicely and the Jasmine against the garage wall has flourished. I like smaller areas (like a hobbit), but claustrophobic. This area is my retreat to cook, journal, contemplate, etc.
My brother made me the circular TripleB BBQ stone. He is very good at making things.
Want to see other areas and upgrades. Love to see wall art. Attjack has posted a lot on his BBQ area and curious what it looks like now.Last edited by TripleB; June 5, 2024, 10:00 AM.

Mosca Thanks Tom. 1) Yes, I move the plants. My Jambo is the world's most expensive plant stand. 2) The houses are fairly close. Never have had a complaint on the smoke, but have had some compliments that the food being cooked smells delicious.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
I did these as a couple of videos, from different directions, to show our setup relative to the neighborhood. The neighbors nearest the deck have a pellet grill that I think theyβve used once; they work opposite shifts. Theyβre βhave a pool, never use itβ people, great neighbors though. The neighbors behind have made some smoke a few times, but I donβt know what heβs cooking on. I think itβs a pellet grill, too. Younger, three kids, we donβt interact except to say hi and chit chat. The neighbor to the stairs side doesnβt grill outdoors, she is widowed and living alone. We invite her over a few times a year, sheβs a great neighbor. (Bill was one of those guys who dropped dead of a heart attack while training for a marathon. He was a good guy, we still miss him.)

Very nice Tom. I like the outside fridge and freezer. I should have done a video. So much easier. I have one neighbor that has a family of two kids and we chit chat occasionally. My other neighbors, unfortunately, are complainers and not very nice. Oh well, that's life. Beautiful deck.

Thanks. The fridge is cheap, $200 at Home Depot. I unplug it in the winter, usually around late October (41Β° N latitude, 1500β elevation.) The freezer gets defrosted twice a year, otherwise just runs like a champ. Right now itβs -17Β° up high and -22Β° down low on the two-channel Thermoworks freezer thermometer.

I am excited about my new smoker shed! I bought it on amazon and just got around to putting it together. Really great instructions and labeled well. Taking my time because it is so hot in Richardson.
UPDATE:
I just finished my little shed. It is just what I was looking for. This came in 3 boxes. I am really impressed with the instructions and labeling and packaging. I did 90% by myself. I had to get my wife to help hold things up a couple of times.
I still need to organize and add my personal items but I am ready to start smoking!Last edited by jecucolo; August 14, 2025, 06:12 AM.
