Well, I recently bought a Thermoworks Smoke, and the receiver just died on me. Have not yet contacted them, but it was right before a long brisket cook, so I had to sleep outside where I could hear the main unit!!
I bought a Smoke and the receiver wouldn't communicate out of the box. The tech went through the steps to sync but was not working. They had a new one to me in a day! Did the sync process and working great ever since. Some of the best customer service I ever had!

I've only used the FireBoard twice now and it blows the Maverick and the ChefAlarm away. It's freaking awesome. The Thermapen Mk IV is my go to probe, for sure.
Don't have any controllers, have a couple of Thermapens, a Chef Alarm, a Smoke, a Maverick 732 and a Tappecue.
I use the Thermapen for on-the-spot readings, the Chef Alarm for oven cooking and the Tappecue for smoking for it's graphing and WiFi connectivity. I like the Smoke and hope it's promised upgrade with WiFi and graphing comes soon and it doesn't have a cord hanging off it's rear like the Tappecue. The Maverick just takes up shelf space now.
Different applications, different solutions. If someone came up with a one size fits all solution I'd be all over it. Until then I'll just deal with multiple devices.
