I too love the G & F Leather Gloves. Not the best dexterity in the world, but they work well for me, especially when dealing with super hot lump in my Weber kettle. (You need the arm protection.)
They are not magic of course, and if you try to grip a 600 F+ metal thing for more than 30 seconds, the leather will be fine, but your thumb will not. Ouchy. (I did this three days ago....)

My wife got me a pair of Grill Beast gloves a few years ago. Here’s the comment I wrote on the public side
I can personally endorse these gloves. I have had a pair for several years now. I have used them on almost daily basis while cooking on a Hasty-Bake and a WSM. I move white hot briquettes, hot grates, move wood chunks around, etc. I’ve never been burned or scorched. My wife bought them for me as a Father’s Day gift based on the recommendations on this website :-)
I will note, though, that, eventually they have to be replaced. You can see in the attached pictures the state they are now in. Which is why I was looking through the recommendations on here once again and thought I would post this comment/endorsement.
The burns and holes are not bad things. It’s the result of being able to use these gloves under pretty intense conditions. They absorbed all the damage, not my hands.
When I was a tank crewman, we wore Nomex coveralls, hoods, gloves, and leather boots. The coveralls and gloves had Kevlar reinforcement. Fairly similar to how these gloves are constructed. I watched my loader pick up expended base plates from main gun rounds without any issue, all the time. Saw a crew have a flare back off the gun (propellant gases exhaust into turret, instead of out the tube). They all came out of it with scorched gear, but no serious injuries. Nomex plus Kevlar == GOOD
