Bud has always been my barley pop.
Been smoking a handful of years, just got serious in the last two or three years. Thanks to AR n @glemn picked up an SnS Kamado for appx 1/3 price of new. I dont think he used it twice. Love AR! keep calm n smoke on! Miss you Bonesy.
I thought the kale slaw was very good and super crunchy.
The briskie was most likely the absolute best I have Eva had! Pork ribs were pull off the bone. Membrane left on, big turn off for myself.
Mac n chee, ggrraaate! Super creamy and Mac was firm n had a bit of chew to it.
Banana pudding meh, bread pudding was firmer than I like but good n flavorful.
All except the initial wait, food was an eight of ten.
Briskie was a 9.7 of a 10. Snausages, great variety, we had Jala Chee. A taste of turkey, and some pork belly that was excellent.
As PJ mentioned, great peeps, great service, excellent food. Would I doit again prolly not for that much hang time. We had a lot of fun and they knew who AmazingRibs.com is.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. As stated above. Goldee’s - ✔️ I will recommend it all day, but don’t need to go again.
Both SheilaAnn and Panhead John hit on something I've been thinking about for awhile. When you get into the top tier of Texas Monthly....like the very top tier, except for the people who are hyperlocal, your repeat customers must be quite minimal, even though the food is absolutely excellent. Waiting in line for three hours, even in mild weather, just isn't all that fun.
Definitely our future trips to Goldee’s will be to pick up preorders. Even though we live 5 miles away, today was just the second time I’ve been there.
When i was in San Macos, I met some folks that said they stopped going to the Burnt Bean because of this. They said they went to the Sunday brunch regularly before they got "discovered".

Reason: Spelling
The dinner at Pho Palace was another hit. For a random Google map find we got very lucky finding a place with great service and awesome food.
I got this and couldn't begin to guess how to pronounce it. Crispy fried noodles with chicken and veggies.
I’m glad everyone is having a great time down in the Ft. Worth area. As to Goldie’s prices it is all relative. Other than maybe that little taco stand in Mexico City that was awarded a star several years ago, those are probably the lowest prices you’ll ever find in any other Michelin starred restaurant in the world. 😉
Update: The little Mexico City taqueria, El Califa de León, lost its star in August. Another upscale restaurant was awarded the star.

Reason: Read article this morning about El Califa de León losing its star.
We went to Hurtado BBQ in Arlington for lunch today. It is great. I had the smoked quail, burria taco, Texas twinkie, Mexican street corn, Tres Leches banana pudding and a root beer. CaptainMike and I ate outside.( with all the other Cowboy fans, see pic below) Great food and service. Only 2 people in line at 11am opening. We had a tour of the pits after lunch. Overall a great experience at Hurtado. Hard for me to compare to Goldee's because I had a totally different meal and can't compare meats. I will be back to Hurtado and try their brisket, ribs, sausages and different sides. especially their Hatch Chile mac n cheese. Texas BBQ is not only just briskets, ribs and sausages. BTW, Hurtado's is the official Texas BBQ of the Texas Rangers. .
Last stop was Hurtado described as central BBQ with a Tex-Mex twist. We were pleased with the experience from the short line to the service and of course to the food.
This is the six meat platter. Beginning at the top left pulled pork, sausage, Texas Twinkie on top of the brisket, two pork ribs, turkey, burnt ends in the con trainer in the center, Bottom right is Mexican street corn, and the container above it is the hatch chili Mac and cheese and top center is the onions and pickles.
For me personally not factoring in the short line as compared to Goldee’s, I liked it better and the sampler plate was a welcomed menu item compared to most BBQ joints which don’t offer one. My wife and I ate our fill and brought home probably two more meals of proteins. Everything was included in the six meat plate except the Texas Twinkie which was a giant jalapeño stuffed with meat and wrapped with bacon. It was really loaded. The Texas-Mex flavors were a welcomed menu item change from traditional BBQ. I think the weakest item on the plate was the sausage which was due to the casing not having adequate snap. Yes, I would go again.
Talk about a contrast between yesterday and today! We went to another Top 50 in Texas spot today, Hurtado’s. We arrived at 10:45 this morning and were……third in line! After a horrendous 15 minute wait 🙄 we were let inside.
I really liked this place, kind of small but a great atmosphere and nice large outdoor seating area...did I mention not much of a wait? 👍 The food ranged from good to excellent! The staff was great, smiling faces eager to assist! I’d never seen Texas Twinkies on a bbq menu before so I was eager to try theirs, and they did NOT disappoint! The jalapeño was stuffed with brisket, cream cheese and pimento cheese, then wrapped in bacon. 🥓 Oh hell yeah! It was smoked to perfection and was very tasty. I bought 2 of em and gave 1/2 of one to jayjordan to try. Pretty sure he liked it too. 🤓
The next thing I wanted to try was their brisket tostado, boy was that thing pretty! It was every bit as delicious as it looked! Loaded with cotija cheese, refried beans, cilantro, onions, salsa verde and Valentina’s sauce. This was a winner folks!
My 2 sides were some braised cabbage and mashed potatoes with butter, cheese and bacon added. The cabbage was ok but needed a little more seasoning. Mashed potatoes were very good, no complaints there. With a fountain drink and tax my bill was only $37. before tip. I really liked this place, not only was the food great, but you can basically walk up near opening time without a 3 hour wait….🙄
We had the brisket, smoked turkey, street corn, cabbage salad, and Mac& cheese. Brisket was nicely seasoned and moist. Turkey had just the right amount of smoke, and moist as well. Only thing that would be better is if the proteins were warmer. Still very good. The street corn was some of the best we've ever found. Tastes differ, but to me the Hatch chili Mac & cheese was the best we've had anywhere. It was creamy without being floppy, the noodles still firmish, and the chili level just right. The cabbage could have had a tad more seasoning. All in all one of the best all around good experiences we've had in the Meat Up journey.
My plate of Hurtado's goodness: smoked quail, Texas twinkie, poblano pepper jack sausage, Hatch Chile Mac N Cheese, Brisket Beans, and a Pepsi. Everything was top notch.
Others have posted the large offset smokers. Here is their rotisserie smoker:
