Kim was practicing her pole dancing routine for the crowd. She was tipped about $36. for her 3 minute dance. One guy stashed a 20 in her fanny pack!Last edited by Panhead John; October 24, 2026, 07:54 AM.

My lunch of lamb ribs, pork ribs, pork belly aka white brisket, fat and lean brisket, bread pudding, home made bread and a Mexican Coke. I also had a sample of the smoked turkey. Was it worth the 3+ hour wait till sitting at the table? I think so at least once. Everything was very good but the pork belly was real fatty and the bread pudding was very dry and a waste. Great customer service during the entire time we were there. I can now say I have been there. Thank goodness for the great Pit members to pass the time with during the 3 hour wait. Glad the temps were not in 100's like last 2 months.
After getting back to the hotel, I was very thirsty due the high salt content of the BBQ. This is normal for me since I hardly ever use salt in my food prep or added to my finished meals.

Some of us are now back at the hotel. We arrived at 9am and were done eating and out the door at 12:30. It was about 3 hours of waiting in line before sitting down to eat. Would I do it again? Nope, but not because the food wasn’t great, it’s just that some of us have now eaten at several of the best spots in the world, so there’s not much left to make me want to do it again. The weather was great and we were in the shade almost the whole time, we met some great people in line and I enjoyed it, but not enough to wait that long anymore. There’s too much good cue’ in Texas to pick from. Anyway, on to the food!
I ordered 2 brisket slices [1 fatty and 1 lean], 2 pork ribs, 2 links of sausage and 2 small sides with a Dr. Pepper to drink. Total with tip was a whopping $90.! I’ve never spent that much money at any bbq joint, ever! ….and I usually order roughly the same thing each time. Here’s my thoughts on the food. The brisket was great, some of the best I’ve had, maybe top 3. The flat I ordered was also moist and tender, not dry like it can be at times. Perfect amount of seasoning IMO, but could have used a little more smoke.
I ordered 2 types of sausage, both made in house. The first was a Lao sausage link which came with its own dipping sauce and some sticky rice to eat with it. It was a different flavor, unlike any sausage I’ve had before but very good! The other link was their in house special grind, also very good. My favorite sausage though was a Texas hot link which 58limited shared with me……dayuum! That was easily in my Top 2 sausages I’ve had! Spicy with a great flavor and a little snap to the casing.
The pork ribs were just ok, I’ve easily had much better but they were still good. 7.5/10 maybe. And damn if they didn’t kill it with their sides! My Mac n cheese was some of the best I’ve ever had, tender with lots of delightful cheesey flavor. Their brisket pinto beans were also a winner in my book! They had a great flavor, perfect amount of seasoning with generous bits of brisket in the mix. Sides were 9/10 IMO! Overall I think that Goldie’s food is well worth the wait…….once.
The servers/employees at Goldee’s were very friendly and helpful. There was always an eager employee around to answer any questions we had. 10/10 for service!
On closing, just wanted to say that I saw something today for the first time ever in my life…….someone actually eating kale!!! 😵💫
This is Purc ‘s son Will. He was eating some kale slaw….it’s that green crap next to the water bottle. 😂Last edited by Panhead John; October 23, 2026, 05:19 PM.

I can echo most of what Panhead John said. I thought the brisket beans were exceptional and I liked my sample of the bread pudding. The ribs, brisket, turkey and lamb rib were all good, but as Panhead John indicated we have better at other places.

My order at Goldee's - 1/4 lb of every meat plus mac 'n cheese and banana pudding. Coke in a bottle and house made bread.
Across the top: Rice and dipping sauce; four sausages from top - Lao, Hot Gut, Jalapeno Cheddar, House; Mac 'N Cheese;
Under all that: House made bread; triangle of pork ribs, pork belly, and lamb ribs with brisket peeking through the middle; banana pudding.
Bottom is the turkey breast.
Everything was really good. I would say that Redbird BBQ (owner trained at Goldee's) beat them on the pork ribs but they are close. The lamb ribs were excellent with a nice middle eastern flavor that reminded me a little of KG BBQs pork ribs. The bread was good, better than the standard white bread or Martin's potato bread usually found at Texas BBQ joints. I enjoyed the turkey, almost as good as 1701 BBQ's. Brisket was top notch. Pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth and fatty, very filling. Pork Fat Rules!
The Mac 'N Cheese was really good, better than most places. The banana pudding was good but not a very pronounced banana flavor, closer to vanilla pudding.
I really enjoyed this BBQ but as others have said I doubt I will wait in line 2-3 hours again.Last edited by 58limited; October 24, 2026, 07:55 AM.

Ordered brisket, lamb ribs, house sausage, Lao sausage to go for meal with the wife later.
For lunch couple of slices of brisket, potato salad and brisket beans. Banana pudding for dessert.
Delicious brisket, but it wasn’t quite a “10” like previous time there, more like 8.5. Still, imho, excellent brisket.
Brisket beans exceptional, potato salad great, bread always good.

After leaving Goldee's some of us went to Meat Church BBQ Supply in Waxahachie. I was little disappointed in that it was smaller than I thought it would be, especially after moving to their new location. I also thought that they would have more grills and smokers but they just had some pizza ovens and several Traegers. Mostly the store was selling seasonings, BBQ tools, cookware such as Yeti cast iron skillets - $$$$, and merch such as t-shirts.
Inside the entrance is a large display of turkey brining kits: marinading buckets, brine mix, and seasoning for $38.00. Probably not too bad with the seasoning and brine mix factored in but you can get food grade buckets and lids at Lowe's for about $10.00

I'm not overly sure how I feel about that. I remember when Malcom Reed moved his production from his house to his shop, it lost a little of its charm. However, of course, with that said, I'm sure having all of the smokers easily accessible with near-permanent lighting is something Matt has wanted for years now.
