Last night, Friday, we all ate at Poorboy’s Riverside Inn. For a change of pace I had some seafood stuffed mushroom caps and some alligator boulettes. ……yum!

I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
We had a blast on the swamp tour! Our tour guide, Cal, was awesome! Extremely knowledgeable about the area, wildlife, history of the swamp as well as the trees and plants native to the area. Someone asked him…”how do you tell the male alligators from the female ones?” He said…..”the females wink at me”....
Our awesome tour guide Cal, with Linda [L] and Candy Sue [R]
Getting ready to leave…

Tonight, Saturday, we all hit Prejean’s [pronounced Pra-shons] and it was a big hit for the most part. A couple of hiccups, Julia’s fish was a little over cooked which they replaced, and the complimentary bread pudding wasn’t up to snuff. But everything else was very good according to verbal reviews! I got the shrimp and grits along with a delicious cup of seafood gumbo! We all had a blast and enjoyed our time bad mouthing the moderators.
My shrimp and grits……
Julia’s replacement flounder was perfectly cooked
Candy Sue and her grilled oysters….

This was a really fun Meat-Up, I hope we do it again In the future. There are lots and lots more restaurants to try out. I'm almost home but stopped at Hop Ave. Brewing in Bridge City for a wood fired pizza and couple of beers.
WARNING!!! …..Don’t try and hang with the Cajuns when they’re drinking! Friday night Uncle Bob, Bill, Dave, David and myself were downstairs in the large inside seating area minding our own business. I believe we were discussing nuclear physics. Right next door is another gathering room filled with a bunch of “party people”. They were playing music, laughing and having a good old time! I walked by a few times and waved and said “Damn man, y’all got it going on!” They all smiled and waved back, then said..”come on in and join us!” Big mistake… I was ready for a party! They all welcomed me like a long lost friend. I sat down with em for a while after introducing myself. These folks were some of the nicest and friendliest people you could hope to meet. Well, after a bit I decided to go back next door and see who wanted to join me at the party. Dave and David said “what the hell, let’s go.”
There was about 20 people there, all Cajuns living about an hour away from Lafayette. Anyway, after enough booze flowed, they started having sing a longs with a music channel from the TV. I just shot a few videos, no one wants to hear me sing, trust me. I think I dragged myself upstairs around midnight 😳 That’s a late night for me these days. They were still going strong, after I left! 😳
Suddenly, someone set this in front of me…….😳
Needless to say, I was definitely hung over Saturday ……David had the Blind Squirrel
We had a great time hanging with em, but man I paid for it the next day….😢
