What he calls "hitting on me" was her actually offering to help hold him upright as he dottered to his room...........the boss told her he didn't want a lawsuit because some old guy fell down.
Since you are all traveling to NC for the Meat Up I wanted to share another way of traveling for NC BBQ. This photo was taken at the http://www.pik-n-pig.com a in Carthage NC. While we were eating some other customers decided to drop in for some good food. The crews were actually coming for the BBQ.
CaptainMike Carthage huh. My home county. Stop by and say hi to my sister who is a county tax collector.🙂
I’m still upset about not being able to meet you on your trip. Friday I will be Shepardstown WV, just 6 miles from Antietam, and then you show up in Moore County. If I wasn’t expected in St. Louis next week I could have had lunch with you in two states.🙁
Now that this thread is started I'll post my travel pics here until the MU is over. Finally have the chance to upload a few shots. Some from the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. I was last here in 1981 and it's changed a little:
Abe looks a little disappointed
One of my favorite Westerners
Me 'an 'ol PJ meetin' on the prairie
The Big Muddy
The World's Largest Bass Pro Shop
Beale St
The King
The Other King
And finally the view out our back window at our final stop before the MU. We're in a very, very nice RV park on Johnson Creek near Waynesville, NC
Waynesville is a great little town in the NC mountains. My favorite artist has her studio there, Teresa Pennington. She does amazing colored pencil scenics of the area.
If you are stopping in Waynesville again on your way back, call ahead and get reservations at The Chef's Table. A truly outstanding restaurant. A bit pricey, but incredible farm to table stuff.

The NCWHM is on our list of places to visit. Their twitter feed is occasionally very amusing #HashtagTheCowboy
today's amusing entry accompanying a picture of a very pretty horse:
"Maybe she's barn with it... maybe it's neigh-belline."
I passed some really beautiful country today in Alabama and Georgia. After I hit 65 N it was just beautiful trees and smooth highway all the way. Atlanta traffic sucks, just like Houston so I was used to it…..
CROSSING THE ALABAMA RIVER
It looked almost identical to crossing the Atchafalaya Basin yesterday in Louisiana.
Here's a couple from a little bit of the Blue Ridge Parkway through The Smoky Mountain NP. Wow, what a beautiful stretch of road! Well, until we hit Gatlinburg anyway. G-Burg looked like half the population of urban California (or NYC) were crowding both sidewalks! Everything looked so meticulously surreal, like a Disney park. One moment you're traveling through stunningly natural beauty, and the next moment you're in Stepford. Memphis was shabby, but at least it was real.
Nice pics Mike. I remember stopping in Gatlinburg with my folks as a kid. Probably about ‘71. It was incredibly tacky then. I can only imagine it has gotten worse and more plastic.
Draznnl I didn't even see any streets of mud, let alone a boy named Sue who was kickin' an a-gougin' his own sweet dad in the mud and the blood and the beer. Very disappointing...
The problem with this trip Mosca is that I'm deadheading the whole way! I shoulda hauled at least a little of that California Devil's Lettuce to offset the fuel bill.
(con’t.) took me south to Cincy and I’m spending the night in Wilder, KY. That may have been because there were signs on I-65 saying "Downtown Traffic Only", so I took the 465 loop.
