Barry unless you spend a lot of time downstairs on the ground (and have a ground level kitchen) I think you're going to find it a big hassle to get from the Lang to your kitchen.

Here's the nice fella' I bought Tex from.

We've God the State of Texas cutouts on the Tuning Plates and on the stack cover - very fun!
Well, I'm not sure what happened, but I cannot make these pictures bigger?? Maybe they will look differently when I post this?
In any event, on the road back we stopped at the newly opened Buccee's in Baytown TX. Huge store, the size of an old Wal-Mart, and 96 gas pumps. It's super fun, and they sell a pile of pits and smokers out front.

And, of course, we put some fire on it every night since she's been home, practicing the fire thing on the past-its-prime wood I already had at the house.

Fun!!
Paul please check out this thread: http://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/for...pictures/page2
I think you have been bitten by the small pics bug.
Don't worry. It can be fixed!

Thx Ernest. Didnt know them... I think that because of the technology utilized it loses some of the nice things bbq cooking has... Fight with the fire, control the temperature, etc.
Of course i loved the song where they explain the diferentes types of BBQ accros US.Last edited by jbulo; January 21, 2016, 08:40 PM.

Started Low-N-Slow BBQ in 2012. Obviously, it's taken hold (in chronological order:
1.) A pair of Weber Smokey Mountain 22.5's
2.) #LilTex, a 22" Expensive Offset Smoker (looks like a Yoder Witicha)
3.) #WhoDat1, a HUGE Gravity Fed Insulated Cabinet Smoker (cooking chamber 3'x2'x6')
4.) A Full Size Commercial Dryer/converted to Vertical Smoker.
5.) Jambo Backyard stickburner (my FAVORITE Pit so far)
6.) GrillMeister, a huge 24"x48" Adjustable, Charcoal Grill from Pitmaker.com
7.) 22" Weber Kettle with Slow-N-Sear
8.) Vault insulated reverse-flow cabinet smoker from Pitmaker
9.) BarbecueFiretruck...under development
10.) 26 foot BBQ Vending Trailer equipped with HUGE Myron Mixon 72xc smoker is HERE, Oct 2016!
11.) Opened www.PaulsRibShackBarbecue.com Food Trailer officially in March 2017
12.) Austin Smoke Works 500 Gallon Propane Tank Offset Smoker, named "Lucille" as travel pit for PaulsRibShack, Oct 2018.
12.) Opening Brick & Mortar location at 4800 Nelson Rd, Spring 2019. Had a pair of 1,000 Gallon Austin Smoke Works pits, both in RibShackRed for our new place!
Fabulous Backlit Thermapens, several Maverick Remote Thermometers (don't use any remotes anymore), Thermoworks Smoke, Other Thermoworks toys, Vacuum sealer, lots and lots of equipment...
I'm loving using BBQ to make friends and build connections.
I have #theRibList where I keep a list of new and old friends and whenever I'm cooking, I make 1 to 20 extra and share the joy.
I am LOVING cooking on the new Jambo! As an illustration of it's #SuperFun Status, I just made a 16x portion of B3R (Big Bad Beef Rub) for the briskets i'm planning to make in the next month of so, starting with the 3 that are 60 days wet aged in my BBQ Fridge!
As Jerod Broussard mentioned above, the INSULATED FIREBOX is a big plus for 2 Reasons
1. It is more efficient, delivering more heat to the pit per unit of wood.
2. And this one is even more important, It makes it Easier to Maintain your Quality Fire. That box stays HOT! I've got burn marks on my left forearm, the one I reach in to put the wood in that accidentally touches the corner of the metal on the door frame. Let's say you put a long on, and come back in an hour, the temp is low, say 200, and there are a few coals left in the firebox but not a lot. You go to put a new log on...and you start praying! Well, as the @BishopofBBQ, I should be doing some praying regular like, and I do! In #LilTex, the firebox is now back to a regular temperature, and I've hated this scenario, because it's a real pain getting that fire relit if you run down to a low point of coals. Well, with the Insulated Firebox, that chamber stays Hot way longer, and kicking your fire back up is Way Easier if you have only a few coals left!
That advantage #2 was an unexpected surprise of Joy!
It's also super helpful to have seasonged wood.
And to have a Kindling Cracker so you can have nice, small pieces of wood to get that fire going again.
The Jambo Backyard runs hot, but, it seams it cooks the same as the other cookers at 25 degrees less?
I'll comment more on that in a bit. Have to get to trimming those 3 briskets!

We have two weber kettle grills (one LARGE and one small/average), the SnS and the Weber Smokey Mountain 18" smoker. We use both natural lump charcoal and KNB for smoking and measure our temps with a Maverick 733, thermopen and MK4. Favorite beer depends on what is cooking (alt answer is yes).
