Well, not sure where else now

Sorry about the title ... but I really don’t know where to put this. We used to put this sort of thing in the channel related to the specific type of meat. Now, it’s now so clear. Maybe Huskee can help me point it in the right place

Anyhow, I was in my local Safeway today. And they had nice chunks of strip loins in cryovac. That they packed today. For $5.99/lb ... which is crazy welll priced. I bought a 6 lb piece, in the the cryovac, for $35.

It’s in the fridge right now!

Also, I do feel like we lost something in the conversation with the redefining of the channels to no longer allow general discussion of "meat stuff" in the various food channels.

You cooking it whole or cutting it into steaks?

Our local grocery store has some very good Choice NY strips for $5.99 a pound about once a month. I wouldn't say I time my trips to the grocery store when they are that price but I totally time my trips to the grocery store when they are that price. And a few always seem to end up in my cart.

It looks like the beef and pork sub headers are missing? The poultry and lamb/mutton are there.

Me too. I hate that. I wake up sometimes 3 or 4 am and can’t go back to sleep for nothing.

I’d give that a like, but that would be an insult. I hate it, the same way you do.

Great deal! My problem is that our local Smith's/Kroger (and sometimes Albertson's) often has good deals on meat but I usually have to pass 'cause I need an extra freezer and in these Covid hoarding days I can't find any. Even if I could I don't have room for another one. Maybe I should use up some of the frozen food I've been hoarding?

Yep I’m thinking you need to cook more so as to make room for these good deals...👍👍

Still put it in the meat's sub-channel for now, or if it's about a store or meat shop then use that (Butchers & Meat Suppliers) please. I'll move this one to Butchers & Meat Suppliers > Big Box Stores/Supermarkets. We're working on getting more non-recipe sub-channels in place so that both Recipes and other food talk have all the different meat & food categories. It's definitely not off topic, Off Topic is for things like jokes, sports, pets, cars, etc. If a topic is about food, cookers, cooking gear, places to buy food or gear, etc then it doesn't go in off topic.

I knew it was not off topic, it just was no longer clear to me where to post stuff like this that was not a recipe

Huskee and raywjohnson , where's the Beef sub channel in the Recipes Only section? Is it hiding in plain sight?

I love nice little finds at the store. I got 2 nice chuck eye steaks for $4.99 total at my local shoprite yesterday.
