Thanks ComfortablyNumb there you have it jgg85234. Do I win anything for getting it right, like maybe a gift voucher for Costco and then uhm... the means to get there.

The means to get there? Are you saying, poor fellow, you can't walk and swim? I suppose we could provide lessons, however it will come off your voucher!

So you only make quarterly stockup trips then to eliminate needless driving??

80 miles to the nearest Costco, however just a few steps to the nearest meat deals.

12 miles to the Greensboro location and 16.7 miles to the Winston Salem location. We always go to the Greensboro one. It is laid out better.

My closest is 90 min. Next closest 2hrs, next 2.5 hrs. Sam's however is about 30 min.

The 3 nearest ones are 4 miles, 5 miles, and 6 miles. There are 2 more 10 miles in different directions that I hit if I'm already headed that way. Then a whole bunch 10-20 miles. At off-peak time it's convenient enough that going to Costco doesn't have to be a "destination event" - going to pick up a 1 or 2 items is not a big deal.

ComfortablyNumb Ha! Yeah, I know. However, for some of my work research I still use the online version of R-M as I feel their maps are more accurate and easier to read.

Off the top of my head. 5 (6 if there’s one in Anaheim) Costco’s as the crow flies. Multiple Sams as well. About 6 other chains as well likely numbering the hundred +.
radshop has a big ole one by him I used to frequent a long while back.

As as of yesterday I am officially a Costco member. Again. Sophia and I went to the HB location for the first time today.

Spent $38.00 on an umbrella and kingsford competition coal twin 18’s for $13.99.

ComfortablyNumb I only bought two things!

found Prime whole Packers for $3.49lbs and pork belly for $2.99lbs. But by the time I decided I wanted the meat I was at the other end of the store without a cart holding Twin packs of coal and an umbrella.

Ill go go back for the meat. Im sorry, I digress.
          Too late 😃🤔🤔

Attababy, piasano! Not only the restraint of only purchasing two items, but more admirably the lack of ambition to walk back across the store! However, now that you have a membership, you may need a second job to fund future visits. ;-)

ComfortablyNumb I don’t know what happened. I was on my way home from work one minute, then next thing I was trying to find a parking... at Costco. Got that belly and briskee packer. 70 bucks in 4 minutes. I can’t afford it. I’ll need to work 8 days a week instead of 7.

For me the key to getting in and out of Costco without needing a second mortgage is to go by myself at off-peak time. I keep my eyes straight ahead, get what I need, and get out. The thing about Costco is it can either save a lot or burn a lot of dough.

MY closest is less than 4 miles away. I have a warehouse about 1/2 mile from work. Then there is Cypress, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Anaheim, Irvine, etc.

We are there about 2-3 times a week. Full packer brisket, Prime Ribeye Roasts, babybacks. Wish they had bone-in Pork shoulders. I get those at Smart-N-Final.

The closest one to me is almost 2 miles away. On this island we have 4 Costco's. They are the cheapest place to buy stuff in this state. Grocery stores here charge an arm, a leg and then some. The savings in gas alone pays for the membership.

Currently the closest Costco is 109 miles. In three months that one will still be the closest, but it will be 117 miles away. My closest Sam's Club is currently 36 miles. In three months the closest will be 77 miles.

You guys who live with 4 or 5 Costco's or Sam's Clubs within 10 miles remind me of when my mother in law would visit us from Alta Loma, CA. We would have to make at least one WalMart run for her while she was here, because there weren't any WalMarts close to her in California. My wife was doubtful of this, so she checked the locations of WalMarts in her mothers neighborhood. Now, our closest WalMart is currently 11 miles away (in 3 months the closest will be 25 miles away), and it wasn't a big deal, because it isn't like we never make the trip. But the closest WalMart to mom's house in California was 3 miles away. But while we were in open country most of the way, they were going by way of city streets, and it was "too far" to ask her son to take her shopping. All in perspective.

Willard The really nice thing is, where I live I don't buy my meat at either Costco or Sam's. Unless someone has pork at a really good price (and it's still local) I buy a whole hog or half a beef from people I know, and it's processed by a local butcher. Haven't had a local source for lamb where we've been living, so I've been forced to buy New Zealand lamb from Sam's when I wanted/needed it, but I have several members of the church I'm moving to who raise lambs, so that should change.
