OK. So in the FWIW department, I've recently tried a couple of pantry staples from Costco that are not only good, they're GREAT! (sorry Tony). Costco's Kirkland "Signature" brand Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and Extra Virgin olive oil are both about a good as it gets ... and at a MUCH lower price point than you'll find elsewhere ... and sorry about there being no pics to prove it ... but it is really true. If you've got a Costco in your vicinity, I highly recommend giving one, or both, a try ...

Just for clarity’s sake, it is not actually Parmesano Reggiano unless it comes from the specific regions in Italy. Not saying it isn’t really good, but like olive oil, there are specifications to being named such.

You can bet a dollar that if Kirkland labels it Parmesano Reggiano, that it legitimately is. 1. They are not going to risk the lawsuits and 2. Costco is a very ethical buyer/seller. I know one of their buyers and he will pass on a good deal if there is any question of the ethics involved.

I was going to say this too, after reading a book called "Real Foods/Fake Foods". I have YET to find a good source of REAL parmesan reggiano here in Huntsville, Alabama.
After reading that book, I am also VERY particular about my olive oil, and mostly buy from one of two sources, being sure to look at the harvest date, so that I am not buying oil any older than 12 to 18 months. I no longer buy bulk olive oil at Sam's Club. Cobram Estates from California or Australia for the most part for me.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
Even within Parmagiano Reggiano there is variation. Sam’s Club sells DOP Parmagiano Reggiano for $12.50/lb that is okay. But I’d rather pay $21/lb at Wegman’s for Parmagiano Reggiano that makes me want to dance.

Costco’s EVOO makes many of the “best of” lists out there, including Good Housekeeping and Samin Nosrat. Kirkland often sources their products from legit producers, but puts the Kirkland label on it.
Here’s a write up on what Samin Nosrat had to say: https://www.thekitchn.com/costco-oli...-nosrat-266401
And here’s Good Housekeeping: https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/foo...e-oil-reviews/
Kirkland products are generally completely legit, high quality, and well priced.
And I always have Kirkland EVOO in the pantry :-)

Define "fast"
I go through that size bottle in 8-10 weeks.
I store it my basement pantry, and fill a decanter in the kitchen as needed.

Finster EVOO open but stored in IDEAL conditions should be used in 1-2 months tops. (for maximum flavor)

The Costco DOP parm is very good for the price. I use it for grating into dishes. When I put together a cheese board, I'll usually spring for a Vachce Rosse or a longer aged parm
Been using Kirkland EVOO for years. Very good for salad dressings and sauteeing. I sometimes keep a nicer one around for finishing drizzling

Costco is my cheese source, except for Tillamook, from Oregon.
Costco's best EVO, in the smaller bottle, is my low-grade EVO. Same for their best balsamic vinegar. Both very good. The Fresh-Pressed Olive Oil Club supplies higher end product.
The Mala Market, Nashville, supplies Roasted Rapeseed Oil, my normal cooking oil.
Beans from Rancho Gordo or local growers.
(Seem to have turned into a ridiculous oil, vinegar, bean and cheese snob.)
