Welcome aboard. Many more accomplishments than me. When I was young I tried to edit those CDB! books. Mom said I just didn't get it.

Hey everyone, thanks for the warm welcome. I love all the comments about the vegetarian thing. That was back in 1992 for chrissakes! Quick story: Maybe 10 years ago, I invited my friend John Puzo to a Florida Gators tailgate in Gainesville. We flew from PA to FL and made a "guy weekend" out of it. I smoked a pork shoulder ahead of time, and planned to finish it at the tailgate on a charcoal grill. TSA stopped me and inspected my soft cooler carry-on baggage. After looking at it on the screen, they asked, "Ya got some kind of meat in there?" "Yessir. 20 pounds of pork for a tailgate." They gave it a look-see, and said, "Ok then, carry on." John and I got on the plane and the whole flight down, he keeps saying, "Damn, that smells good." John was vegetarian at the time. I had long gone back over to the dark side from being vegetarian. On that flight, as the smoky, porky goodness filled the airline cabin, I'm sure other vegetarians were questioning their choices, too. Anyway, in Gainesville, we tailgated with Wiley Horton, a friend of a friend, who has season tickets and always does a huge tailgate setup with an RV, outdoor TV, speakers, grills...the whole nine. This was the 2nd time I attended Wiley's tailgate. The 1st time I brought a bunch of food from my book, The Tailgater's Cookbook." This time, I brought pork shoulder and finished smoking it at the tailgate. Then I pulled it. The we ate it. Man, was it good. The whole time, John was watching us pull the pork and pile it on buns with slaw. He kept smelling the smoky meat. He ate bean salads and whatnot, but he was constantly looking over at the tray of pork. It was an especially good batch, so good that a few of us said to John, "You really should just try a taste. Just a little bit. It's so good." So he did. He had a taste, and his eyes lit up. A few beers later, I saw John sitting against the back wheel of the RV with the blade bone in his mouth, gnawing every last bit of pork from the bone. To this day, John eats a lot of plant foods. But he is no longer a vegetarian.

Ha! Great story! That trumps me corrupting my wife's Catholic grandmother to eat a steak on a Friday during Lent a few years back.

                            Isn't pork a vegtable? 😀
