Great find! I scored my 2007 Performer Deluxe in a similar way, for $100, from a friend who had a new Yoder YS-640 on the way, and his wife told him one of the other 5 grills had to go before the Yoder arrived. It's my favorite grill by far of all the ones I have - the table, charcoal bin, and charcoal ignition have spoiled me.
If you don't want to use the little 1 pound throw away tanks, you can get a hose that lets you hook up a regular 20 pound propane tank to the Performer Deluxe. I did that for the longest time, and then decided to try the 1 pounders. I've been on the same 1 pound tank since May I think!
. It only is needed for 5 minutes under a chimney to get the charcoal going.
When I first got the Performer, I had concerns that the charcoal would go "bad" or something sitting outside in the bin, even under a cover. Never been a problem, and I live in Alabama, where it is humid pretty much year round. I dump 20 pound bags into the bin, and keep a scoop in there, and its always ready to go. I've had charcoal in there for months and never had a problem with humidity ruining the charcoal.
