This was my first cook without the Santa Maria attachment. I love the gas assist. It fired up my poortex quickly and it had the wings sizzling. When the grill heats up the red turns to a dark plum color.
did you ever find a red paint to patch up the rust spots on the weber kettle porcelain enamel? I picked up a red perform this weekend with chips in the lid and would like to know if its even possible to patch it up without making it look worse than just leaving it alone.
I never did and I've sort of let it go for now. In the back of my head, I'm thinking that I may replace the whole thing with a new red kettle someday. But for now, it works fine with the rust so I'm not in a rush. But let me know if you find a decent match.
jfmorris, I usually do toss some wood on top of the charcoal. I'm not sure why I didn't this time. This is the Titan Great Outdoors Santa Maria attachment. I see they are finally back in stock and just $99.
