    MCS came out of nowhere.

I do not need any more grills right now. However, for some reason, I just searched "grill" on craigslist. This is what I found for $100 OBO.

I've always wanted a SS performer. I see some rust. But a restoration project does sound like fun. If I get this I'll bounce my other 22" to a friend.

The last time I tried to buy something from craigslist the seller reneged on the agreement. This guy excepted my offer but I asked where he was located and he did not immediately answer. So wish me luck.

That propane tank is probably worth half the cost. You know how hard those are to get.

Gen 1 –The first Performer, introduced in 1990, is often referred to as the stainless steel or "SS" Performer. The top surfaces surrounding the kettle and the adjacent "flip up" horizontal surface were made of stainless steel. The early SS models came in two basic variants; a gas-assist version that had the propane tank and burner tube for lighting charcoal, and a non gas-assist model that eliminated these features. Interestingly, the gas-assist version had wheels on the left legs of the cart

Great find. I'm not in the market for a new grill, yet I find myself doing the same search on FB Marketplace and Craigslist quite regularly...

There's a couple of those on Kijiji up here lowest price is $250 up to $550 so that is a deal if the seller plays ball.
                  Good luck.
