I want a charcoal grill. I have it narrowed down to the Weber Performer or Broil King smoke grill 500. Will primarily do grilling with maybe a little smoking. Broil King gets me about 200 more square inches, but the Weber is a Weber. Any help?

I have no experience with the BK, but there are a ton of accessories for the Weber, and I do love my Performer with the gas assist lighting.

Cooking gadgets
Weber Summit Charcoal Grill Center
Weber Summit Platinum D6
Blue Rhino Razor
Dyna-Glo XL Premium Dual Chamber
Camp Chef Somerset IV along with their Artisan Pizza Oven 90
Anova WiFi
Thermometers
Thermapen Mk4 - ThermaQ High Temp Kit - ThermaQ Meathead Kit - ThermaQ WiFi - ThermoWorks IR-GUN-S - ThermoWorks Signals & Billows - ThermoPop -ThermoWorks ProNeedle - ThermoWorks TimeStick Trio x2 - and a Christopher Kimball timer - NO, I do not work for ThermoWorks...I just like their products.
Other useful bits...
KitchenAid 7-qt Pro Line stand mixer
A Black & Decker food processor that I can't seem to murder
A couple of immersion blenders, one a "consumer" model & the other a "high end" Italian thing. Yes, the Italian one is a bit better, but only marginally
Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus 8-qt + accessories like egg-bite & egg holders
All-Clad pots & pans, along with some cast iron...everything from 7" Skookie pans to 8.5qt Dutch ovens
Weber GBS griddle, pizza stone, and wok
Knives range from Mercer to F. Dick to "You spent how much for one knife? One knife?!" LOL
I don’t have experience with either despite currently owning two Weber grills... (Summit Charcoal & Gasser)
Not familiar with the BK so I had a look...and it looks decent...and extra real estate is always welcome. Almost no one says, "I wish I purchased a smaller grill."
OTOH, there are NUMEROUS add-ons/accessories available for the kettle...for several styles of cooking.
Massive amounts of versatility with those.
My other charcoal grill is a Dyna-Glo Dual Zone Premium that I use much like a Santa Maria Grill. For that it works. As a smoker? Not so much. (Actually...not at all.) It leaks pretty much everywhere & in every direction and low temps are well nigh impossible. But, as a two-zone grill it works fine.
If I were looking for versatility...one of the kettle variations would be hard to pass up. There’s a reason why they’ve been faves for so many people over the years.

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Maverick 732, DigiQ, and too much other stuff to mention.
How many people are you going to be feeding? MAXIMUM how many people?
I’ve never felt maxed out on a 22†Weber, but I usually cook for two, sometimes for four or six, and once in a while for 8 or more. Overflow goes to the BGE.
The gas assist on the Performer is worth every cent.
I don’t know anything about the Broil King. On the one hand I trust the company; on the other hand I am wary of grills that take the general shape of the one in question. Caveat emptor.
