Given that they have redesigned the genesis line recently, and not to rave reviews, optimism would suggest an improved Genesis line. Pessimism would suggest that they are going to screw up the Spirits as they did the Genesis line.
Off the wall thinking suggests they might be getting into the pellet poop game.

Really off the wall thinking: They get into stick burning - maybe on offset?

Really on the wall thinking... no one announces a new grill in November. Spring is new grill season.

I went to their site this morning and saw nothing interesting. Maybe the announcement is later today.

They were advertising the Weber Spirit 2 line. Is that new?

I don't think so. The Spirit 2 has been out since Jan of this year. Still wondering...

Weber Kettle Club seems to think it's something to do with the Genesis line. Great, upgrades to gassers, boring.....

Well, the issues with the Genesis II line, even in the reviews here, have been that they killed searing performance, and took away things that people used (sear burners, side burners). I bet they address those with more expensive models.

        #21
Looking on their website it looks like they are marking the Genesis II as the "New" thing. It also says available beginning November 2018 on all the models. Not sure what all is new, other than you can spend a lot more money now to get back the sear burner and side burner that the old one had. So sad that to get the same grill I have, today you would need to spend $200-$300 more than I did.

Ok, it appears that they have ditched the 2 burner and 6 burner Genesis II models, collapsing the offerings to only 3 and 4 burners. And as others have noted, added new versions that add back the missing sear burner and side burner. Also you can now get a closed cart without buying the LX stainless model.

Bah. I was hoping for something new like a Weber pellet smoker.

Guess I should have bought that Genesis II E-610 that was on clearance for $799 at Home Depot last week... . Not really, I am over my urge for a huge gas grill the first time I saw the 4 and 6 burner Genesis II. The Genesis Silver A 2 burner model from 2002 is still serving the needs I have for gas...

I have a 2002 Genesis 2 burner - at that time they had a 2 and a 3 burner model, and there is really no end in sight for it. Do I wish it was bigger sometimes, or had more BTU’s? Sure, but it does the job for direct grilling, especially with Grillgrates. And price was right (widow gave it to me when a friend of the family died, when it was only 2-3 years old).

find a Genesis Silver B on CL, usually less than $100.00 Put in new burners, flavorizer bars, and grates. New grill for less than $300. Will perform very well.

bten I’ve got a Genesis Silver A that will last as long as I can get parts for it. It does a great job and has a full set of Grillgrates, so I’m good - if I need space I just split the cook between the Genesis and the Performer.

Contest closes tonight at midnight, right now there are 1110 entries. Those aren't bad odds.

That would need an engine hoist style lid lift on it!

I was hoping for a 26” performer, but the price that would be at would be kind of a market wasteland outside of the pit here.

Whew...glad it’s a Genesis. I don’t really NEED another grill right now. LOL

I saw four of the Genesis II E-410 4 burner grills marked down to $549 at Home Depot last weekend, and a 6 burner E-610 for $799. Really tempting at that price, but I'm more into charcoal/wood/pellets now than gas, and my 2 burner Genesis is enough for now.
