I don't think Staples has a box of binder clips big enough to help that one!

When I first saw the smoker in the background I thought it had a 20 foot smokestack on it... light pole in the background appeared to come off the smoker! Haha. Shadow connected the pole to the smoker...

A hammer and a few four letter words fixes most things that can't reboot.

I like to call it "percussive maintenance."

Just start using it more and more. I know you said it's new so like most ppl have commented about getting the soot on the lid just comes from more and more cooks. It'll start to fit on there nicely after a while.

I had a kettle shipped to me that someone had dropped from height but it somehow landed flat. The box wasn't damaged but I couldn't fit the lid except in 2 positions without it wobbling. that is when I noticed that there was a dent in the lid from the inside. Inside the box, the base sat in the lid with some foam between. One of the leg sockets had been pushed into the inside of the lid and made it oblong. Turns out the base was also out. Contacted Weber, shot them some pics, they shipped out new base and lid no cost to me. Came in like 3 days. Great customer service. There were leaks that I had around the lid that didn't go away after many smokes/grills. So I tried the flat gasket self stick seal and it worked for a bit but cracked (got the grill up to 700+ for pizza). So this time I got the rope gasket with 2000 deg rtv. Put it in the lip on the lid. Works great and helps the fit in every direction/location.

that Rope gasket and RTV sounds like the thing to get for my 21 year old kettle that has a lid that down the seat well. I don’t use that kettle unless I have massive cooks going on, but every time I do I hate the leaky lid.

For giggles I emailed Weber and they responded in minutes that it is acceptable for the lid to be slightly out of round but if I wanted to send photos they would have a look. So I sent these two photos, and again in literally minutes they responded that a new lid was on its way. What great customer service!

When I received my 14.5 WSM 3 years ago for Christmas I unboxed it and put it together. the center ring had a dent at the top that prevented the lid from sitting properly. I called their 800 number and the rep asked me to send a picture of the defect. I did just that and was informed that I would receive a new ring (and didn't have to send back the damaged ring) within 7-10 business days. 3 days later the ring arrived.

Yes - great customer service and great long-term vision. Their reputation is one of the reasons they sell so many products.

            I agree. Great customer service.

Lid handle on my 14.5 broke off on first cook. Called 'em and they sent me a new lid. Next day I got a pair of Weber gloves that I had not ordered. Since they was no explanation in the box, I figured they were just saying sorry. Too bad they're weren't any jelly beans though! 😀

I remember Max Good saying that he was invited to tour their manufacturing plant. He said their quality inspection process was impeccable.

They make quality products that are priced to be a good value. They back it up with high quality customer service. There's a reason they've been in business for decades and look to have a long future in business.
