Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
I owned both the PK360 and Weber charcoal grills and even though the Pk grill is a nice grill I have to recommend the Weber kettle. Just my 2 cents worth. Cheers!
I saw that FrozenSmoke has a nifty little grill with smoker attached!!
I have a 26" webber with sns the kettle is over 27 years old and still going strong!

I'm partial to the kettles and you can't beat the kettles with the S&S and all the bells and whistle's that are available for it in The aftermarket. IMHO. I do not own a PK but would love to.
Both are excellent cookers, indeed!
I would dearly love to have a vintage PK!
That bein' said, I have a'69/'70 PP Red Weber 22.5 that ain't rusted, jus yet.

I have a Weber 22†inch & a large BGE. I have had many charcoal and gas Weber’s in the past. My father had a PK in the late 60’s, passed to my older brother in the eighties and it lasted until just 2015. My brother moved and gave away the grill. Wished I had known. Replacement parts and accessories available through Amazon. Click the link to order at Amazon. https://amazingribs.com/model/grill-...l-aka-pk-grill The picture is exactly like my dads. (Accept he burn the wheels off somehow.LOL)

Thanks for all the advice. Just bought a Weber 22 Master Touch Kettle. I really wanted to be convinced to buy the PK but I just couldn't justify the price difference. Also got a 10% discount from HD as retired military. Thanks again for taking the time to give me your insights.
PS. I know we don't soak wood chunks. What about wood chips for short cooks. Soak or dry?

have a PK 360 and a Weber Kettle with a slow and sear Love them Both and find I cook on each one equally but if you forced me to choose and you would really really have to force me I would keep the PK360 it is built like a tank and will probably last forever plus it is a dream to cook on . that being said you cannot go wrong with either, I think you will love your Weber I would recommend the slow and sear and get a gasket for the lid I added both and it really made a difference in the cook.

your right the 360 is expensive it took me a long time to save up and then pull the trigger on it. but it is one purchase I do not regret . I keep eyeing the regular PK also.. I would love to compare it to my 360
I too am a long time Weber guy and also considering the PK360. Looks like a very well made and USA product. My last Weber looks as though it has cheapened up, probably built offshore? Note...the link on this site's review page offers a pretty good deal to include grillegrates and charcoal box and a few other non essentials. Anybody have any experience with the PK360s ability to maintain a steady 225 temp using the installed air vents? Anybody tried using a Flame Boss or Guru on this?
