Power wash a Kettle! It's a freaking outdoor cooking tool. Grease and dirt is a character builder. I can relate to inside cleaning, but you need it shiny? My car is 28 months in my possession. Know how many times it's been washed? I don't know. My wife has taken it through the carwash a couple of times. Again, rain does wonders. I know I'm being an Ahole. It's just me.

I need to close this out. You are an inspiration to this family. I admire you for who you are. Your cooking and baking talent exceeds most if not all of us, certainly me. Beyond that, the personal challenges you have and overcome I can't imagine. So please wax on, RichieB

A clean grill is a sign of a sick mind.

I understand. You like to look at pretty, shiny cookers! Now show us the ones you actually use to make all that beautiful food you make!

Does wax handle the high temps without clouding or flaking?

I have never noticed anything other then a clean grill.

When I waxed mine, I did notice that the wax smoked a bit when the grill heated up. The waxes are not designed to withstand hundreds of degrees. However, it seemed harmless.

I’ll probably regret this, but I just realized that Richard didn’t show us the inside of his cookers. Is it possible that they look like our’s, or do his cooking grates gleam like the Weber display at the local Ace Hardware?

They are clean as well, not waxed, but, I like a clean grate, I also like it to be fairly clean below the grate, I don’t worry so much about the carbon or what ever build up between lid and bottom half of grill, I clean the inside likely 90 percent of the time prior to cooking, even if just my ash brush to get it all ash dust out of the bottom.
